Visiting the Holiday Festival of Lights at James Island County Park was a yearly tradition for Trevin and Kayla. Therefore it was the perfect location for Trevin to surprise Kayla with an engagement ring.
Trevin gave me a call in early December with his idea to propose at the Festival of Lights. He asked us to photograph the proposal. We not only photographed it, but I brought an assistant along to record a video of the proposal on Trevin's phone.
Trevon and I coordinated the perfect spot in the park to propose. I also sent Trevin photos of my self and my assistant so he could recognize us when they arrived. Trevon asked my assistant ("a stranger") to snap a photo of the two of them on his phone in front of the backdrop. Instead, he switched it to video, and as they posed for the photo, he got down on one knee and popped the question. I was standing to the side, taking photos. Kayla was blown away with astonishment.
After the marriage proposal, we walked around the Festival of Lights and photographed a few engagement portraits. I texted Trevin and Kayla the photos I had taken that night so they could share them with their family and friends to announce the engagement.
